Playing at the Park

My kids, especially Zoe, really like to go to the park. One day when me and the kids were in Wyoming, my mom and I decided to go have lunch at the park. It was nice and cool and my mom and I enjoyed just watching the kids have fun. The kids loved that they got to play at a new, exciting park. Plus, I got to take pictures.

Bridal Veil Falls

We are lucky to have a really wonderful transracial-adoption playgroup that we go to every week. Zoe has made some really great friends there, and so have I.

One day this summer, our playgroup went to Bridal Veil Falls. The kids had so much fun. Zoe wasn't too sure about the water, she thought it was way too cold, but she still had fun running around with her friends. Robby had a blast climbing up the waterfall. I was impressed that he was willing to do it (he is not exactly the most adventurous boy), but he did great. It was a really fun day.

When playgroup was over, we started walking back to the car. The kids weren't ready to come home yet though, so we just hung out in the canyon for a while. I decided it was a great opportunity to try to get some good pictures of the kids.  I didn't get exactly what I wanted, but we had fun playing around anyway.

Mini-Golf, Rides, and Laser Tag

There is a cute little amusement park by Kirk's parent's house. In July, we were able to get in free using our water park season passes. We ended up going about once a week throughout July. It was a lot of fun. They have miniature golf, laser tag, a climbing wall, and a bunch of small rides. The kids really liked it, plus Kirk's mom went with us, which gave me someone to talk to and made the kids enjoy it even more.

Robby loved the miniature golfing the most. That was always the first thing he wanted to do when we got there. We all really liked laser tag. Robby liked playing, and Zoe just liked running around in the dark, yelling "I see you," anytime someone ran by. We definitely weren't pulling off any sneak attacks, but it was still fun. Zoe's favorite thing to do was to ride the "horsies" on the carousel. We all had a lot of fun there, it wasn't the greatest amusement park in the world, but it definitely helped to hold us over until we can go to Disneyland again.

Jumpin' Jacks

When Gavin and Karena were here visiting in July, Grandma and I decided to take all the kids to Jumpin' Jacks. Gavin and Karena had plans for the day and needed someone to watch the kids, plus the cousins all just needed to spend some time together.

It was a slightly ambitious plan for Grandma and I to take the kids to Jumpin' Jacks. To start off with, Keagan wasn't too sure that he was happy to be away from his mom and dad. He cried for a while, but as soon as we got there and he saw all the fun things to do, he had a great time. Jumpin' Jacks is basically a warehouse like place, filled with giant inflatable slides and bounce houses. The two little kids couldn't get up any of the slides themselves, so I spent most of the day carrying one, or both of them, up the slides and then helping them down. It was exhausting. The older kids just ran around from slide to slide the whole time. They had so much fun and burned so much energy. It was a great day and I am really glad we got to do such a fun thing with them.

I had my point-and-shoot, there wasn't a lot of light, and there was a ton of action, so I didn't get very good pictures.  I also got hardly any pictures of the big boys because they never stopped long enough to let me take one.  You can really tell though that everyone had a good time.
