Zoe's Dance Recital

This week, Zoe had her very first dance recital.  She has loved dance this year and was so excited for the recital.  I was a little nervous that she wouldn't dance at all because she is very easily distracted.  She did great though.  They were so cute.

A few disclaimers about this video.  This is from the dress rehearsal, not the actual recital.  She did much better at the actual recital and it was way cuter, but I don't have video of it yet.  Also, I took this video.   You will be able to easily see why Kirk is the videographer of the family.  I get caught up in watching the dancers and forget that I am even holding the camera.  You can still get some idea of the cuteness though.

Zoe's favorite part of the recital was wearing her costume and getting to wear makeup.  She looked so grown up.  It was a little sad for me.

I am so proud of my little girl.  She learned a lot in dance this year and has grown up so much.

Piano Recital

Last week, Robby had a piano recital.  He is getting really good.  He has had his recital piece picked out and memorized for a couple of months now.  A week before the recital, he got a new song and fell in love with it.  He practiced it so hard in hopes he could get it memorized and play it in the recital.  He ended up getting it down and so he was able to play it.  I am so proud of him for working so hard.

The first song is the one he has had prepared for a couple of months. The second one is his new song.

Tiptoe Through the Tulips

Last week, we had great weather, so we went to a beautiful park for playgroup.  It had the most gorgeous tulips.  I had to take some pictures.

Track Star

Last week, Robby had his track meet at school.

Robby has never been an athlete.  He generally doesn't even enjoy sports, but when they started training for the track meet, he was so excited.  He has loved running.  In fact, I could tell if they had run at school on any given day based on how good of a mood he was in when he got home.  If he was really happy, I knew they had run.

He really looked forward to the track meet.  He ran the two longest races for his age group, the 200m and the 400m.  He isn't really fast.  He came in towards the end of the pack in both his races, but he ran hard and was smiling the whole time.  I am so proud of him.  He didn't care what place he came in, he told me he just ran his hardest.

I sent him to the meet with one of my cameras so that he could take some pictures.  He didn't get many, but the ones he did take made me laugh.

His friend Tyler

Zoe had dance that morning, so she was in her dance clothes.

I didn't get any pictures of his actual race (Zoe was not cooperating), so we staged some after he was done.

Now he wants me to start running with him so that we can run the 5k in June.  We'll see how that goes.

Easter

We had a great Easter.  Kind of low-key, but still lots of fun.

Robby got a tennis racquet for Easter.  He was so excited about it.  He has been hitting tennis balls on the side of our house pretty much everyday since then.  He really likes tennis.

Zoe got a microphone.  I have never seen a kid her age so into music. She knows most of the words to all the songs on the radio. She is always wanting to listen to music. She had been pretending for months that other toys were microphones, so I guess it was time she actually got one.

The week after Easter, our playgroup had an Easter egg hunt.  The kids had so much fun.

We attempted to get a group picture.

Zoe had a lot of fun looking for eggs and even more fun eating the candy.

I love Easter time.  I love the beginning of Spring, spending time with family, and mostly the reminder to slow down and think about the Savior and all he has done for me.  I am so blessed.
